Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Dubardo in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when BARRILETE COSMICO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eloy Dubardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Llope having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Hulberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 95th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than BARRILETE COSMICO.
