USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. RamPa Football Club's Paul Ramon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul Ramon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 10th minute of play. Paul Ramon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. A nice corner shot did that Diego Bradley got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paul Ramon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 28th minute, Nicu Alexandrescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 32nd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Cassius Byrne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Ramon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Marino Pacheco could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Marco Day however easily saved by the left post. Nicu Alexandrescu took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marco Day. Marco Day dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off.
