Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 7 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rareș Hănescu. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Adrian Isăilă lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Adrian Isăilă got a free kick in the 13th minute. The supporters of Batalionul U23 Dorobanti booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Paul Stoian from long distance, 19 minutes into the match, got Benito Sanz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 21 minutes into the game, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Rareș Hănescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 24th minute. Rareș Hănescu hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Michael Brask's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After 45 minutes, Alexander Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Batalionul U23 Dorobanti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Diego Tristan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. The Batalionul U23 Dorobanti fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Diego Tristan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rareș Hănescu in the 64th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Alcocer got free with Flavio Peter in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wagner Doro in the 73rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavio Peter came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. But to his dismay, Lautaro Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tauro Doro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 97th minute. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
