Sabin Cândroveanu charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sabin Cândroveanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when -BZF- Valea Buzăului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabin Cândroveanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant threw the ball into play from the sideline. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Hugo Ferrant made in the 9th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. Hugo Ferrant made in the 15th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Alex Pop. A sloppy throw-in by Juan Rubio in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Ferrant in the 20 minute of the game. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. In the 27th minute, Gelu Jumancă got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ana Ţugui saved -BZF- Valea Buzăului from getting behind. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Ana Ţugui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 37th minute of play. Axel Tasis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Ana Ţugui made a huge save. In the 44th minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Puig in the 51st minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Ana Ţugui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iulian Strungă kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ana Ţugui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Ferrant, made in the 64th minute of the game. 65 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant threw the ball into play from the sideline. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Sabin Cândroveanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 74th minute of play forced -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goalkeeper Ana Ţugui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Efrain Moruga in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Claudiu Bădulescu. A throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game was made by Hugo Ferrant with Lautaro Puig as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's attentive Avram Pascaru managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. Gelu Jumancă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Juan Rubio made in the 95th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Lautaro Puig immediately put the ball in play. In the 96th minute, Eliseo Noboa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ana Ţugui was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Costa Rica were victorious despite being under pressure from -BZF- Valea Buzăului for much of the match.
