After having played for 15 minutes, Eliseo Mina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Mina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joe Herring in the 16th minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Jerry Lodge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 22nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Lodge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jerry Lodge. Valencia C.F.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Valencia C.F.'s Jerry Lodge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuan Wei Han. Joe Herring blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Joe Herring received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valencia C.F.'s Jerry Lodge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 39th minute of play. Luz Tejedor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Efraim Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joe Herring made a kick off. Jerry Lodge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luz Tejedor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Ryan Plumber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Herring, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Peru's Eliseo Mina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerry Lodge narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Eliseo Mina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerry Lodge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 74th minute, Eliseo Mina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Milagros Fraga came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milagros Fraga couldn't finish the play. Jerry Lodge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Ricardo Arias got a free kick in the 80th minute. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 81st match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Rafael Gallo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Ricardo Arias made in the 87th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ryan Plumber however managed to control. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Herring in the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 92nd minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Jerry Lodge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Gallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joe Herring blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Valencia C.F..
