Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Brais in the 35th minute of the match. Narciso Millrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. When Narciso Millrick came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Lanegan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Millrick couldn't finish the play. Lanegan FC's Melquiades Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 44th minute of play. Luciano Hori kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Melquiades Sendoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lanegan FC were winning 0-1.

51 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melquiades Sendoa. Lanegan FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Puig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Abelardo Brais sent off a good shot on target. If Narciso Millrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute.
