The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Baraquiel in the 9th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Baraquiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pendotiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuno Heiberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kuno Heiberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 20 minutes Pendotiba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kuno Heiberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 25th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kuno Heiberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Pendotiba got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Hoffmann. 33 minutes into the match, Pendotiba's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Kuno Heiberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 36 in the game by Pastor Baraquiel from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Kuno Heiberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Baraquiel came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pastor Baraquiel to make the kick off. Kuno Heiberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kuno Heiberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kuno Heiberg made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Kuno Heiberg. Pendotiba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After having played for 69 minutes, Cristian Hoffmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pendotiba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Hoffmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kuno Heiberg made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. At last the ball reached Felix Montes at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Pendotiba. 0-3. In the 79th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kuno Heiberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Pendotiba's goalkeeper Kuno Heiberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Felix Montenegro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Kuno Heiberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cristian Hoffmann hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Pendotiba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
