If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ's Omiros Ntounos got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute, Stavros Antzas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The supporters of ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adamantios Akrivos in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Luca Zorita had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Alkis Kalipolitis's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alkis Kalipolitis helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexico booed when ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alkis Kalipolitis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Omiros Ntounos made a huge save. Omiros Ntounos was a little too slow when Lautaro Mancebo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 47th match minute, ΕΛΛΗΣΠΟΝΤΟΣ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorotheos Frantzeskos to maneuver through the defense. Xavier Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adamantios Akrivos in the 60th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Farid Delecroix in the 71st minute. Stavros Antzas in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 96th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
