Gerrie Bekker was slow to take the kick. During this time Northern Titans's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Haiti getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Felix Dorval hit a great ball. Maikel Korfs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Alphonse in the 20th minute of play. Gijsbert Hostede fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Seide having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Jean Claude Ulysse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haiti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Northern Titans the free kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Maikel Korfs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Alphonse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Haiti had held the ball for most of the match.
