An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Milian in the 28th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jem Jajecznica in the 32nd minute of the match. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jem Jajecznica, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ψ MΞRTIAN FC Ψ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Guaberto Inautzi in the 35th minute. Ψ MΞRTIAN FC Ψ's Marcelo Gagriel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Carballar in the 37th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Guaberto Inautzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Guaberto Inautzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, Ψ MΞRTIAN FC Ψ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moises Normando to maneuver through the defense. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Milian in the 48th minute of play. Ψ MΞRTIAN FC Ψ were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Guaberto Inautzi took the corner. 邱义星 was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl-Ove Sörman to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Pedro Indiano hit a great ball. If Guaberto Inautzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everardo Milian, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Genaro Ederono received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gagriel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Karl-Ove Sörman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. The supporters of Ψ MΞRTIAN FC Ψ booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Fontirroig didn't get a good kick on the ball.
