Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 18th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ludomil Kajdasz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz managed to reach the ball for a save. 28 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaud Konieczny. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomil Kajdasz having to interfere. In the 40th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Kajdasz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Herblay's goalkeeper Ludomil Kajdasz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ludomil Kajdasz. Ludomil Kajdasz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 53rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. Arnaud Konieczny struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herblay. Ludomil Kajdasz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joel Gaona showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 60 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dimitri Bougault's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. In the 66th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 71st minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Facundo Cadaval's late challenge caught a Herblay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Facundo Cadaval helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Herblay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Alberto Tafalla's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Ludomil Kajdasz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Herblay getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Billy Magnin hit a great ball. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Herblay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Arnaud Konieczny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaud Konieczny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
