Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Júbilo Iwata's Jerônimo Mangueira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovanni Pena saved Júbilo Iwata from getting behind. In the 7thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Jerônimo Mangueira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Giovanni Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Júbilo Iwata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Pena stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Donato Vargas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Júbilo Iwata's Jerônimo Mangueira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Jerônimo Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Júbilo Iwata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerônimo Mangueira couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Dedé de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sandro de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandro de Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jerônimo Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jerônimo Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Júbilo Iwata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerônimo Mangueira couldn't finish the play. After taking down the ball on Júbilo Iwata's corner Chico Mendonça fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The throw-in from Sílvio Luís Bittencourt in the 81st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Giovanni Pena was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
