Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Albirex Niigata FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Christian Goy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Goy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 16th minute of play. Christian Goy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Albirex Niigata FC's Christian Goy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 22nd minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Albirex Niigata FC's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Goy came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Goy having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 89 minutes into the game, when Gencho Ruski put in a rough tackle. In the 89th minute, one of Albirex Niigata FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Albirex Niigata FC. Francisco Seco did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-7 to the left of a surprised Christian Goy 93 minutes into the match. Alberto Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
