Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mariano Lacasa took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 7th minute. Ola Bremming hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 15th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Ola Bremming. The corner ended in Mariano Lacasa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hammarby IF's Holger Vester did a great save. In the 26th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Hammarby IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Chile's Mariano Lacasa to fire away a dangerous shot which Holger Vester despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Francesco Totti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Holger Vester was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celedonio Dominguez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Paes. In the 60th minute Xavier Figueroa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute Francesco Totti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mariano Lacasa came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Lacasa couldn't finish the play. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. Orlando Casaus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Chile booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaltino Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Xavier Figueroa came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Figueroa couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 79th minute, but Holger Vester got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Hammarby IF hanging dry this time. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby IF's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Holger Vester came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute Francesco Totti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Casaus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Holger Vester made a huge save. In the 88th minute, Isaltino Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, Orlando Casaus reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Holger Vester. The goal made the score 0-4. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hammarby IF's Gösta Söderberg. But to his dismay, Gösta Söderberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chile eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
