Heineken Youths's Steen Müür played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Steen Müür showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steen Müür saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Strong Body sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Heineken Youths's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Agustín Saelices got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Steen Müür quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Steen Müür made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Heineken Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar van Rijswijk to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 34th minute of play forced Heineken Youths's goalkeeper Steen Müür to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dennis Heida's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. A nice corner shot did that Boukjan van Dongen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Heineken Youths's goalkeeper Steen Müür, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Heida in the 47th minute of play. The Heineken Youths players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

With a little luck, Heineken Youths's Steen Müür got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramon Zadelhoff hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match.
