Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Strong Body sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Heineken Youths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Heida didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Heineken Youths getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ramon Zadelhoff hit a great ball. In the 27th minute of the match Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steen Müür skillfully saved the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute, Strong Body got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 34th minute. Heineken Youths's Boukjan van Dongen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Venezuela. In the 47th minute, Strong Body left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Heineken Youths fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 54 minutes play.
