He walked away shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Nick Heesen sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nick Heesen. In the 31st minute, Ágætis Byrjun's Manolo Bartumeu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Joep Ponk in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Bartumeu in the 41st minute of play. Dylan Sarmiento's late challenge caught a Ágætis Byrjun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-0 after 43 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 55th minute of play. In the 60th minute Joep Ponk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Matthew Garrido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Ágætis Byrjun were the better team. Ágætis Byrjun's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
