The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Volvimos mejores's Samuel Asteri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute of play. Gilberto Eleazar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Baltasar Ursino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuel Asteri was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilberto Eleazar to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Volvimos mejores's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Asteri came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eurico Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Samuel Asteri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. If Baraquiel Labarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Inocencio Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Volvimos mejores's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Valente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baraquiel Labarra struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Volvimos mejores. The Venezuela players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Volvimos mejores from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
