Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Joep Ponk took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Ditlev Delmont came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Ágætis Byrjun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ditlev Delmont couldn't finish the play. In the 5th minute, Nick Heesen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Sanz, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Manolo Bartumeu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Manolo Bartumeu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 11 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Georg Hagberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 11 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Georg Hagberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Joep Ponk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joep Ponk in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ditlev Delmont in the 17th minute of play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Manolo Bartumeu. But to his dismay, Manolo Bartumeu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Manolo Bartumeu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ágætis Byrjun fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nick Heesen in the 27th minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manolo Bartumeu, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joep Ponk went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th play minute Joep Ponk came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 5-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manolo Bartumeu in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joep Ponk in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Manolo Bartumeu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ágætis Byrjun fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. 61 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Joep Ponk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nick Heesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-1. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Nick Heesen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 86 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen. But to his dismay, Nick Heesen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-1. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 95th minute Nick Heesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Ágætis Byrjun players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
