Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luís Fábio Rocha kicked off to start the match. In the 6th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Luís Fábio Rocha took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Luís Fábio Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Fábio Rochas short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Higinio Aguilera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 34th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Aguilera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Higinio Aguilera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 41st minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. When Luís Fábio Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Los Hijos de Doña Beija fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fábio Rocha couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Higinio Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Rocha in the 56th minute of play. Feliciano Haritzeder might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliciano Haritzeder ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Haritzeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Indiana Jones kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Brion in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Albino Brion notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 84 minutes into the match, Albino Brion had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albino Brion was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 88thth minute of the game Jyrki Sillanpää who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Jyrki Sillanpää's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. After 92 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Argi Casta who took care of the corner kick. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
