Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Paraguay's Jaime Pardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Bartumeu in the 3rd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 5th play minutes Joep Ponk shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal. Joep Ponk took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joep Ponk's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Joep Ponk put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gregorio Urtsin, made in the 16th minute of the game. Ágætis Byrjun's Ditlev Delmont got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Nores was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute, Manolo Bartumeu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Manolo Bartumeu took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. 29 minutes into the game, Joep Ponk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Jacobo Nores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nick Heesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joep Ponk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joep Ponk in the 40th minute of the match. After 40th play minutes Joep Ponk shot 0-9, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nick Heesen's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Joep Ponk took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-10 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jacobo Nores was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joep Ponk showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-11 in the 53 minute of play. With a little luck, Paraguay's Jacobo Nores got control of the ball when Joep Ponk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute, Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-12. After 61 minutes, Jaime Pardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraguay and the Ágætis Byrjun players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Pardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joep Ponk in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joep Ponk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Joep Ponk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Joep Ponk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Gitano Rubiero replaced Manolo Bartumeu. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Gert van den Bergh replaced Joep Ponk. Ágætis Byrjun's Ernst Melis was substituted for Vitaliy Vorobey. 69 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gert van den Bergh hit a great ball. After 74th play minutes Nick Heesen shot 0-13, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal. A sloppy throw-in by Jose Sanz in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Ágætis Byrjun's Alejandro dos Santos. In the 78th minute of the match, Nick Heesen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jacobo Nores was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 82nd minute, Nick Heesen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jacobo Nores. The goal made the score 0-14. 84 minutes into the game, Nick Heesen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jacobo Nores. Nick Heesen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-15. In the 88th minute, Ivan Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Cordarius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Nick Heesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. In the 97th minute, Nick Heesen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacobo Nores was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-16. The Paraguay fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ágætis Byrjun were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
