Los Hijos de Doña Beija's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Argi Casta in the 81st minute. Abelardo Domenec hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After a good free kick, Abelardo Domenec got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. After taking down the ball on Los Hijos de Doña Beija's corner Andrea Pirlo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Domenec in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 94 minutes into the game, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Albino Brion nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. When the referee blew the final whistle, Los Hijos de Doña Beija could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
