In the 10th minute FC U Cluj-N were awarded a corner. Fabian Mușetescu went to the cornerflag to take it. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 曾钢宁, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Mircea Calboreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 18th minute of the match. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mircea Calboreanu having to make a save. Teleagă in the 40th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, FC U Cluj-N's goal looked a bit too open when Joshua Garrido came free, but Mircea Calboreanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Abram Sarmiento recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mircea Calboreanu. Abram Sarmiento showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Florescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mircea Calboreanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute, 曾钢宁 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Abram Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignacio Mastache fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mircea Calboreanu having to interfere. If Ignacio Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC U Cluj-N's Mihai Lăzăroiu was substituted for 曾钢宁. FC U Cluj-N made a substitution. Cezar Coja replaced Iosif Bălcescu. Mihai Lăzăroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes of play, FC U Cluj-N's Cosmin Potocianu made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mihai Lăzăroiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, FC U Cluj-N's Mihai Lăzăroiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. After 86 minutes, Abram Secada made it 4-3 with a short kick to the right side. FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Florescu in the 89th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cosmin Potocianu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pascual Carballar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Colombia's Ignacio Mastache ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mircea Calboreanu. Mircea Calboreanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-4. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
