Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 10th minute of play. If Omid Kaulbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Trevisan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 16th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Alonso Berganza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan did a great save. The audience was convinced that Corneliu Dridu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Peru's Luz Tejedor got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Joaquin Prats charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquin Prats the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rolando Noboa had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Corneliu Dridu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 48th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 71st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dieguinho de Medeiros made in the 76th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Omid Kaulbach however managed to control. In the 78th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Trevisan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Dr Lecter SC made a substitution. Laércio Guedes replaced Lauro Antunes. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Trevisan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Guedes in the 86th minute of the match. Celso Trevisan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Joaquin Prats kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 96th minute of play. Peru played a much better game than Dr Lecter SC and deserved their victory. The Dr Lecter SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
