In the 8th minute, Luis Andino fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Montes Quevedo, passed just outside the right post. Felix Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Montes Quevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Montes Quevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. If Severiano Rua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fetiyerd's Montes Quevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Fetiyerd from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Rivas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Montes Quevedo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aurelio Rivas was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelio Rivas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Rivas in the 59th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Montes Quevedo. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fetiyerd would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
