Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Giroud in the 43rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joachim Högman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver Giroud in the 55th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Bɪᴀɴᴄᴀ ŦС's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Joachim Högman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Bɪᴀɴᴄᴀ ŦС's protests and gave Freddie Bergren a yellow card for diving instead. Freddie Bergren hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 95 minutes, Gustav Kihlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bɪᴀɴᴄᴀ ŦС's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustav Kihlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bɪᴀɴᴄᴀ ŦС were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
