The supporters of Venezuela booed when Gunnah FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Villiam Gustavsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tomas Illescas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 28 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ove Anselius was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Rolado in the 32nd minute of play. Ove Anselius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Gunnah FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Memduh Teber in the 41st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Arif Memduh Teber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gunnah FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Sabóia in the 66th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gunnah FC's Ove Anselius was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gunnah FC's Ove Anselius. Ove Anselius was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 84 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Joélson Sabóia came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa.
