Paulino Caeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Paulino Caeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After 37 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Éder Guimarães who took care of the corner kick. Cássio Carvalhais was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Francisco Seco in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulino Caeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Éder Guimarães in the 42nd minute of the match. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The throw-in from Leonardo Severo in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla. 52 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Francisco Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulino Caeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulino Caeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Gisbert in the 61st minute of the match. Paulino Caeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Alberto Gisbert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Paulino Caeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 70thth minute of the game Éder Guimarães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raimundo Vilela hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Paulino Caeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Éder Guimarães got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Carvalhais in the 78th minute of play. Paulino Caeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 79th minute of play. After 86 minutes, Raimundo Vilela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cotinguiba Esporte Clube- and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Cotinguiba Esporte Clube- got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Vilela. A collision led to Cotinguiba Esporte Clube- getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. When the referee ended the match the Uruguay players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
