Leopoldo Rivero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Leopoldo Rivero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leopoldo Rivero. DOROSTOL Ss's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luz Tejedor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 20th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Rivero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, DOROSTOL Ss's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Leopoldo Rivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Veiga in the 36th minute of play. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by DOROSTOL Ss's Erasmo Veiga. But to his dismay, Erasmo Veiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Veiga in the 39th minute of play. Leopoldo Rivero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 41st minute. A sloppy throw-in by Aimé Rispal in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Leopoldo Rivero made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Leopoldo Rivero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leopoldo Rivero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Aimé Rispal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Rivero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 65th minute of play forced DOROSTOL Ss's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rivero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Rivero saved DOROSTOL Ss from getting behind. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind DOROSTOL Ss's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rivero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, DOROSTOL Ss's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Leopoldo Rivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 86th minute of play forced DOROSTOL Ss's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rivero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milagros Fraga who after having made a long run got a chance for a shot on goal. Despite a couple of nice moves Leopoldo Rivero's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Milagros Fraga was beeing forced to shoot. In the 90th minute of the match Peru got a corner. DOROSTOL Ss's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Peru had won after a very even match.
