Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessandro Catapano in the 5th minute. In the 9th minute, Eugenio Orioli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mexico booed when CabaretVoltaire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Orioli didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Filippo Nazzari's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 18th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Vierchowod saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, CabaretVoltaire's Eraldo Pelati got a free kick in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, CabaretVoltaire's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Aurelio Vierchowod reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Corvasce lost his temper 23 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CabaretVoltaire! CabaretVoltaire:s Aurelio Vierchowod showed great skill when he stopped Joel Gaona:s penalty. After 30 minutes of play, CabaretVoltaire's Armin Manzi made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 33 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Vierchowod made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. CabaretVoltaire's Aurelio Vierchowod played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Lelli came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, CabaretVoltaire's Armin Manzi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jörgen Gustavsson charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jörgen Gustavsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 50th minute of play forced CabaretVoltaire's goalkeeper Aurelio Vierchowod to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Vierchowod having to interfere. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ettore Lelli, made in the 58th minute of the game. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Aurelio Vierchowod tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CabaretVoltaire's Camillo Pollastrini got a free kick in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the match, CabaretVoltaire's goal looked a bit too open when Macos Graciani came free, but Aurelio Vierchowod reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 97th minute, Ettore Lelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in CabaretVoltaire's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Vierchowod came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Mexico players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
