With a couple of smart ball manuevers László Várdai in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, 『挑战者』太平·一生铭记≮浙≯'s goalkeeper Nemesio Baladi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. László Várdai scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute Sabri Taci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, László Várdai took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. In the 59th minute, László Várdai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when László Várdai scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Covarrubias during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Uruguay's much stronger midfield.
