Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Panama's Tomas Berganza started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niilo Mikkola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 11th minute of the match SeleSantos FC got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Niilo Mikkola ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Panama's goalie and right to Pedrão Godoi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Panama's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Felipe Ros kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Niilo Mikkola made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leif Törnqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Törnqvist came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacobo Casado in the 26th minute. In the 28th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Miralles to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the game, Felipe Ros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SeleSantos FC the free kick. Aílton Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Marcos Cotilla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dinei Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 42nd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Niilo Mikkola made the kick off in the second half. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leif Törnqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinei Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Abraham Alguacil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinei Pinheiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in SeleSantos FC's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dinei Pinheiro came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SeleSantos FC's goalie prevented a goal. Niilo Mikkola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 86th minute of play. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Dinei Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
