Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Tomas Illescas started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After having played for 3 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arlindo Messias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute of play forced Palmeira's goalkeeper Ediberto Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeira's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ediberto Rossi came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Marquinhos Gaspar fired a really elegant long shot, but Jonathan Ferrant threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Adhemar Sá who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marquinhos Gaspar was slow to take the kick. During this time Palmeira's players had a chance to rest. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Enrique Berger got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 21 minutes into the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Palmeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlindo Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeira's goalkeeper Ediberto Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 30th minute. Arlindo Messias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Ediberto Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 47th minute of the match.

54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Messias came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeira's Ediberto Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Palmeira from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Palmeira booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Mário Saldanha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Sá in the 66th minute of the match. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palmeira's Leo Carbol was substituted for Dorian de Souza. Alain Aznar kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 72nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeira's goalkeeper Ediberto Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Palmeira's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Tomas Illescas scored to the left of an out of position Ediberto Rossi, making the score, 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raphael Severo went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Ediberto Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raphael Severo's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After 94 played minutes Palmeira got a freekick which was hit by Isak Okoronkwo. After 95 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. When the referee ended the match the Palmeira players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
