Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by SV Wissenkerke's Gerjan Staarman. But to his dismay, Gerjan Staarman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gerjan Staarman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 13 minutes, Jean-Paul Schuiling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Wissenkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean-Paul Schuiling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SV Wissenkerke booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 minutes of play, SV Wissenkerke's Gertjan Baars made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Frits van Loo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 30th minute of the match. Gerjan Staarman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gerjan Staarman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gertjan Baars, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After 48 played minutes, SV Wissenkerke's Sylvan Baggio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Wissenkerke reached it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

In the 52nd minute, Aaron Alcocer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When Gerjan Staarman came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the SV Wissenkerke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerjan Staarman couldn't finish the play. After 69 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the SV Wissenkerke players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mariano Bombarda. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Jean-Paul Schuiling managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Wissenkerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Paul Schuiling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of SV Wissenkerke booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerjan Staarman in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Jean-Paul Schuiling scored 1-4 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gertjan Baars. 94 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Frits van Loo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SV Wissenkerke had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
