Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alfredo Martins kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Peru's Joaquin Prats got a free kick in the 4th minute. Toby Major made in the 5th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gaston Gonzalez. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dida Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. 16 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Dida Taffarel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute of the match, Julian Murillo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dida Taffarel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dida Taffarel. That made the score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 39th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Toby Major in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 45th minute, Luz Tejedor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Fraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Selami Rezan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rolando Noboa skillfully saved the ball. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. German Cano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Peru's Luz Tejedor got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Peru's Julian Murillo got a free kick in the 75th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from German Cano went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 81 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 83rd minute of the match. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. In the 91st minute, Milagros Fraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 93rd minute of play. Moussa Kabre hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Eliseo Mina made a precise shot to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1.
