Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 7 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Desportivo Coala's Orlando Silva. Orlando Silva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Orlando Silva managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Costa Rica's Axel Tasis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. Axel Tasis made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that Desportivo Coala's Orlando Silva managed to reach the ball for a save. The throw-in from Efrain Moruga in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Desportivo Coala's Chiquinho Guerra. Desportivo Coala's Orlando Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 38th minute of play. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Silva having to interfere. Víktor Hoffmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Mazinho Silveira made the kick off in the second half. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Hugo Ferrant with Lautaro Puig as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Orlando Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Desportivo Coala's Mazinho Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Desportivo Coala's Orlando Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 76th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Efrain Moruga in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Desportivo Coala's Chiquinho Guerra. Orlando Silva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 84 minutes into the game, Desportivo Coala's Mazinho Silveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Desportivo Coala's Mazinho Silveira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Ferrant, made in the 89th minute of the game.
