Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Clapham came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Stickleback Utd Xl's Stephen Clapham fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stephen Clapham didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 31st minute. Stickleback Utd Xl's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After having played for 37 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute Stephen Clapham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Stickleback Utd Xl's Charles Armitstead to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Silvester Odell in the 43rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Stickleback Utd Xl's Sly Collier got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sly Collier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antonio Arias went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sly Collier having to interfere. In the 88th minute Stephen Clapham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sly Collier came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Stickleback Utd Xl were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
