Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdis Felbergs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Andžs Redzobs kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Black horses's Cipriano Sauveur got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdis Felbergs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Luz Tejedor took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdis Felbergs. Valdis Felbergs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when George Maradona made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. Black horses's Valdis Felbergs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Cipriano Sauveur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Cipriano Sauveur sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. Cipriano Sauveur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 44th minute, Joakim Kämpe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Peru's Luz Tejedor shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 53rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Valdis Felbergs but with some difficulty. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Sauveur in the 58th minute of the match. George Maradona charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Maradona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Peru booed when Black horses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Maradona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Black horses's Valdis Felbergs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Black horses from getting a goal against them. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Valdis Felbergs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atso Joenväärä kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 73rd minute of play forced Black horses's goalkeeper Valdis Felbergs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. 94 minutes into the match, Black horses's goalkeeper Valdis Felbergs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Gallo. Black horses's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
