Luiz Fernando Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Luiz Fernando Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute. Alex Arantes struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bezerros EC. Bezerros EC's Luiz Fernando Peixoto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Bezerros EC from getting a goal against them. With his leg Luiz Fernando Peixoto managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clóvis Camargo hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. The supporters of Bezerros EC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play forced Bezerros EC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A hard shot 59 in the game by Claudinho do Vale from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Luiz Fernando Peixoto came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 65th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho do Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
