Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academia Rio's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gigel Tilea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Şimonca in the 16th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Academia Rio were awarded a corner. Nicolae Hizo went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Academia Rio's Nicolae Hizo to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 20th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Tilea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergiu Coșeriu's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Tilea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Nicolae Hizo in the 31st minute really tested Julio Vera's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Sergiu Coșeriu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gigel Tilea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Olimpiu Dichiseanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 44 played minutes Academia Rio got a freekick which was hit by Codrin Ionete. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergiu Coșeriu made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho scored 0-3 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Tilea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Hizo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sergiu Coșeriu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Ecuador's Felix Montenegro stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Gigel Tilea stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Academia Rio of the goal. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gigel Tilea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The audience was convinced that Sergiu Coșeriu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Gigel Tilea made a huge save.
