Udinese's Marco Day threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alexander Bottone, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 11th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Augusto Clemente ran over to the corner to take the kick. A.S. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Day in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 13th minute of the match. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 19th minute of play. Alexander Bottone did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Marco Day 22 minutes into the match. Alexander Bottone struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S. Udinese. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 39th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexander Bottone to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Edward Mcdonald managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Mcdonald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Zach Harrison tried to sneak it across the goal line. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. 87 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Paolucci in the 89th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ercole Fiorentino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, A.S. Udinese could leave the field as winners, despite USA having more of the ball for most of the match.
