Axel Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serafin Eate read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lauro Moreira in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the game, Colombia's Axel Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serafin Eate made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Club Atletico Chusca's Serafin Eate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 25th minute of play. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Montenegro in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atletico Chusca's goalkeeper Serafin Eate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Lauro Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lauro Moreira scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute of the match, Santino Seco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Serafin Eate saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Abram Sarmiento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serafin Eate was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. In the 39th minute Lauro Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafin Eate having to make a save. 41 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Chusca's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Serafin Eate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match Antonio Indiano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Serafin Eate skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Serafin Eate in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Club Atletico Chusca made a substitution. Leonardo Gumaro replaced Baldomero Montae. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lauro Moreira to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 65th minute of play forced Club Atletico Chusca's goalkeeper Serafin Eate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro Moreira in the 69th minute of play. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Lauro Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Colombia made a substitution. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. When Abram Secada came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abram Secada couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the game, Lauro Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abram Secada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serafin Eate having to make a save. In the 85th minute Abram Secada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Eate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafin Eate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Secada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lauro Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 94 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Confesor. In the 96th minute Abram Secada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafin Eate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafin Eate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 97th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Atletico Chusca had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
