Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) FC Inter Sibiu's Sorin Manciu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sorin Manciu in the 7th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Bitang came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Gică Costandache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Francisco Seco could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Sebastián Sosa however easily saved by the left post. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Sorin Manciu put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Bitang in the 30th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Inter Sibiu's Kajetan Madajczyk got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 35th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Sorin Manciu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Inter Sibiu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sorin Manciu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmad Okhumeode í Lon Jacobsen came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dragoş Bitang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute of the match, Maximiliano Escribano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sebastián Sosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. Uruguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Sorin Manciu scored to the left of an out of position Joaquin Gayoso, making the score, 0-2. FC Inter Sibiu's Sebastián Sosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 64th minute of play. Sebastián Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Jaime Cazalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Sebastián Sosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastián Sosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Franco in the 80th minute of play. Sorin Manciu took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Sebastián Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Francisco Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastián Sosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gică Costandache kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. After 93 minutes, Jorge Sainz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the FC Inter Sibiu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorge Sainz kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Sorin Manciu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sorin Manciu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5.
