The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cachiyuyo EAS's Niceto Oriche quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Camilo Gisbert, made in the 2nd minute of the game. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 10th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evaristo Velasco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play forced Cachiyuyo EAS's goalkeeper Evaristo Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evaristo Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Rencio came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Rencio came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 32 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evaristo Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Cachiyuyo EAS getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Edgard Polentzi hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Rencio in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cachiyuyo EAS's Selwyn Seangchjan got a free kick in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo EAS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Evaristo Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elvio Etor's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elvio Etor helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cachiyuyo EAS! Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Rencio in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
Evaristo Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Cachiyuyo EAS's Evaristo Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 57th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Cachiyuyo EAS's Evaristo Velasco. Evaristo Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Evaristo Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Evaristo Velasco in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Cachiyuyo EAS's Evaristo Velasco got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Dito Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evaristo Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo EAS's Dito Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Evaristo Velasco however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Evaristo Velasco in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 95th minute, Dito Sena made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7.
