David Batuhin made the kick off and thus started the match. Javier Maroto was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cuatrodeocho! The referee gave Chile a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mariano Lacasa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cuatrodeocho's Fulgencio Villalcazar. 0-1. Cuatrodeocho were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sid Wilson took the corner. In the 13th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Villalcazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Batuhin in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 47th minute of the match Cuatrodeocho got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sid Wilson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Lacasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Gábor Gyepes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Chile's Francisco Carballar quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Fulgencio Villalcazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 53rd minute of the match. The corner led Cuatrodeocho's David Batuhin to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
