If Jens-Ove Persson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melker Ödman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gisbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay reached it. Gösta Billvall who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Joaquin Gayoso was a little too slow when Gösta Dalgren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-2. After a rather tough play, Diniimanibelediyespor's Gösta Dalgren got a free kick in the 67th minute. Joaquin Gayoso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gösta Dalgren showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 69 minute of play. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them.
