The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ferdi Akergin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Franco, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 19th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20thth minute of the game Aytaç Arıcan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rdth minute of the game Aytaç Arıcan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egemen Beyan charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egemen Beyan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aytaç Arıcan helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes ALTIKASIM got a freekick which was hit by Aytaç Arıcan. Ferdi Akergin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
