Genílson Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 32 played minutes Landulfos FC got a freekick which was hit by Dedê Fonseca. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 39 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant stood somewhat misplaced when Andrea Napoleone came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 42 minute. Flávio de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

But to his dismay, Pedrão Pereira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Flávio de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Pedrão Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Pedrão Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Landulfos FC's Flávio de Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Landulfos FC from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Napoleone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Landulfos FC's Emílio Maciel got a free kick in the 88th minute. With a little luck, Landulfos FC's Flávio de Azevedo got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patricio Costa during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense.
