Barcelona de América's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After having played for 19 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Axel Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Santino Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Bradford Scalzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute, Elias Pettersson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Barcelona de América's Elias Pettersson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abram Sarmiento made a kick off. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Viergol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute Ronaldinho Gentenaar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Pettersson in the 60th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Pettersson came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias Pettersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barcelona de América made a substitution. Caetano Levandowsky replaced Elias Pettersson. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Levandowsky in the 70th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona de América's zone, Ignacio Mastache stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tenorio Reiriz came out of the goal and Ignacio Mastache tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute Bradford Scalzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Caetano Levandowsky left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcelona de América fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. 83 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Levandowsky came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barcelona de América's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bradford Scalzo in the 85th minute. The corner led Barcelona de América's Félix Fermosel to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Barcelona de América made a substitution. Zayvion Ispuzua replaced Ronaldinho Gentenaar. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bradford Scalzo was slow to take the kick. During this time Barcelona de América's players had a chance to rest. Barcelona de América's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
