Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Cauã Domingues when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Cauã Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Cauã Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 70th minute of the match. Gustavo Vinhas charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Vinhas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gustavo Vinhas hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Cauã Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 74th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. Cauã Domingues was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 77 minute of play. Jose Correa charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jose Correa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SANTOS F.C booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. SANTOS F.C walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
